Getting started is easy! Schedule a Discovery Flight to experience flying with one of our instructors. During your flight, we’ll answer your questions, discuss your goals, and help you create a personalized training plan. 

A Discovery Flight is your first opportunity to experience flying. You’ll meet your instructor, learn the basics of flight, and even have the chance to take the controls while safely flying the airplane. 

Not at all! Many of our students have never been in a small airplane before their first lesson. We teach everything from the ground up. 

The total cost varies depending on your learning pace, how often you fly, and your previous experience. We provide transparent pricing and will help you develop a training plan that fits your budget while maximizing your progress.  

Most flight lessons are around 1 hour of flight time.  Our Piper Cherokee 180's rent for $200 per hour and the Instructors are $80 per hour.  You can typically plan on spending around $280 per hour for a lesson.  

 Most students earn their certificate in 3 to 12 months. Students who fly two to three times per week typically finish much faster than those who fly less frequently. 

You can begin flight training at almost any age. To solo an airplane or helicopter, you must be at least 16 years old, and to earn your Private Pilot Certificate, you must be at least 17 years old. 

Yes, you’ll eventually need an FAA Medical Certificate before soloing. We can help guide you through the process and recommend Aviation Medical Examiners in the area. 

For the best progress, we recommend flying at least two to three times per week. Consistent training helps you retain skills, saves money, and shortens the time needed to earn your certificate. 

Chrisair Aviation offers training in several aircraft, allowing students to gain experience in different types while learning from experienced instructors who tailor training to each individual’s goals. 

Our most common training aircraft is the Piper Cherokee 180 which is widely regarded as one of the most reliable, forgiving, and capable flight training platforms in general aviation history.  

Absolutely. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate work, school, and family commitments. 

Yes. Every pilot needs both flight training and ground training. 

We offer instructor-led ground school classes that prepare you for the FAA Knowledge Test and help you become a safer, more confident pilot. 

You can also do self-study ground school as an option.  We can discuss the benefits of each kind of ground school in person.

The length of each lesson depends on the stage of training.  Most flight lessons last approximately two to three hours. This includes a pre-flight briefing, the flight itself, and a post-flight debrief to review what you learned. 

Safety always comes first. If weather isn’t suitable for flying, we’ll often use the scheduled time for ground instruction so your training continues without losing momentum. 

Absolutely! Every professional pilot starts with a Private Pilot Certificate. We’ll help you build a strong foundation and guide you through the ratings and certificates needed to pursue a professional aviation career.
